How does rhenogran TMTD work?
Rhenogran TMTD receives an additional activation from basic accelerators, e.g. aldehyde-amine and guanidine. Rhenogran TMTD is used as a primary accelerator in combination with sulfur, as a secondary accelerator in conjunction with thiazoles and as a curing agent without sulfur.
Does rhenogran TMTD cause vulcanization?
Rhenogran TMTD causes very rapid but scorch-safe vulcanization of natural and synthetic rubbers. If mercapto or sulfenamide accelerators are added, the vulcanization undergoes retardation. In such cases they have little effect on the degree of cross-linking; they mainly reduce the scorch rate and increase total curing time.
