淨化後的水質優於硫酸鋁絮凝劑，淨水成本與之相比低15－30%。 絮凝體形成快、沉降速度快，比硫酸鋁等傳統產品處理能力大。 消耗水中鹼度低於各種無機絮凝劑，因而可不投或少投鹼劑。 適應的源水PH5.0-9.0範圍均可凝聚。 腐蝕性小，操作條件好。 溶解性優於硫酸鋁。 處理水中鹽分增加少，有利於離子交換處理和高純制水。 對源水溫度的適應性優於硫酸鋁等無機絮凝劑。 在低濁度水中，將固體的聚合氯化鋁產品按照1：3比例 (重量比)加自來水稀釋，並且攪拌至完全溶解。 在生活、生產用污水中，參照每噸污水先投加30g左右的聚合氯化鋁產品。 然後投加稀釋之後的聚丙烯酰胺產品。 (如果效果不明顯，請酌情減少或增加產品投加量) 在造紙廠污水處理中，採用低濁度水的投放比例配置，如效果不明顯可在酌量添加。
